The World of Warcraft: Shadowlands saga will soon be coming to a close as Patch 9.2.5, the final patch in the expansion, officially arrives. The patch introduces several notable quality of life improvements to the long-running MMORPG, not the least of which is the ability to group up with members of the opposite faction.

“Players are now able to directly invite members of the opposite faction to a party if you have a BattleTag or Real ID friendship, or if you are members of a cross-faction WoW Community,” said Blizzard. “Premade Groups in the Group Finder listings for Mythic dungeons, raids, or rated arena/RBGs are now open to applicants of both factions, though the group leader may choose to restrict the listing to same-faction applicants if they so choose.”

Guilds and random matchmade activities like Heroic dungeons, Random Battlegrounds, and Skirmishes, will remain same faction as well as the following instances:

  • Trial of the Champion
  • Trial of the Crusader
  • Vault of Archavon
  • Icecrown Citadel
  • Baradin Hold
  • Siege of Boralus
  • Battle of Dazar'alor
  • Darkmaul Citadel (Exile's Reach dungeon)

In addition to cross-faction grouping, Patch 9.2.5 also adds new Blood Elf and Dark Iron Dwarf questlines that will allow them to earn new appearances and rewards. The patch also opens up the new Enigma Crucible PvP arena at Zereth Mortis and introduces DPS buffs for a handful of classes and increased threat generation for tanks. All of Torghast’s wings are also now available permanently and will no longer be rotating randomly every week.

The full patch notes can be found on the World of Warcraft official site.
