World Of Warcraft Previews Shadowland’s Covenant Signature And Class Abilities

Blizzard Entertainment has just published a World of Warcraft Shadowlands dev blog previewing the upcoming Covenant Signature and Class abilities that players will gain access to when the eighth expansion arrives later this year.

“Four ruling powers control the Shadowlands, each of which is in desperate need of aid from the heroes of Azeroth. In exchange for your help, the Covenants are willing to share a piece of their power and access to the rewards and other blessings, boons, or temptations they have to offer.”

The four Covenants are: the Kyrian, the angelic denizens of Bastion; Necrolords, defenders of the Shadowlands; Night Fae, guardians of nature that shepherd souls through life and death, and the Venthyr, the vampiric punishers of the unworthy.

Each Covenant will give players temporary access to their abilities during their initial journey through each of the Covenant’s domains. These abilities follow the theme of the Covenant that bestowed them. The Kyrian, for example, will allow you to call a Steward to deliver a Phial of Serenity that can be used to restore HP and various debuffs. The Venthyr grants players the ability to travel through shadows and appear at a specific location. Necrolords offer a corpse-powered shield that will prevent damage based on a percentage of your max HP. While the Night Fae will allow you to shapeshift to increase movement speed and teleport a short distance forward. In addition to Signature abilities, players will also gain access to Covenant abilities specific to their class.
