World Of Warcraft Is Looking Into Further Expanding Race-Class Combo Options

Since World of Warcraft came out, it’s playable race-class combinations have been strictly tied to Warcraft lore. That’s why you can’t roll a Night Elf Warlock or an Orc Paladin, although Blizzard has been expanding the combinations over the years and is looking to expand it even more, as Game Director Ion Hazzikostas revealed in a recent interview.

According to Hazzikostas, they’re working to open up additional race-class combos but they’ll need to have a good narrative reason for a race to become a class. Blood Elf Druids and Night Elf Paladins, for example, might already be in the pipeline as they already exist in the game as NPCs but have yet to become available to players. He says that he’s also open to giving the Drachtyr access to weapons and spells in the future.

The game director also touched on various gameplay systems, including cross-faction guilds, Mythic+ balance changes, and the removal of seasonal affixes next season since some affixes made the dungeons easier instead of making them more difficult.
