Kingdom Under Fire 2 Overview

Kingdom Under Fire 2 is a 3D fantasy action-strategy MMORPG that is being released for PC and PS4. Create a character from one of three available classes: Berserker, Gunslinger, and Spellsword; customizing their skin color, hair, and facial features with a variety of choices. Control them in fluid, Dynasty Warriors-inspired combat that pits thousands of varied enemies against you in intense action combat. Take a strategic role in the game's massive wars by commanding your character's troops, which must be assigned and adapted to the battle at hand.

Kingdom Under Fire 2 Key Features:

  • Dynasty Warriors-inspired Combat – take control of a strong commander and plow through hordes of enemies with chained attacks.
  • RTS and RPG Modes – jump seamlessly between the game's RTS mode and its action-RPG mode, getting macro and micro scale views of the battlefield.
  • Three Unique Classes – create a customized Berserker, Gunslinger, or Spellsword to take the role of commander.
  • Large-Scale PvP – fight against enemy players either in 1v1 duels through the game's RPG mode, or take part in ferocious RTS-style warfare where you command your troops to fight against another player's army.

Development History / Background:

Kingdom Under Fire 2 is co-developed by Blueside and Phantagram, both originally involved in the development of the other Kingdom Under Fire games. The game was announced in January 2008 as a "Multiplayer Online Action RTS" that featured a story mode and a persistent MMO world, and was to be released on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. In March 2010, the game was rumored to be in development hell, as developer Blueside was in financial trouble. The game resurfaced again in 2013, when it was going to be released in Korea that year. Unfortunately, the game saw many delays throughout its development, and its release date was pushed back multiple times. A permanent, IP-locked open beta began in Asia on May 22, 2014, promising no character wipes. It was originally slated to launch in 2016, but has been delayed. The game will be launching first in China then slowly release elsewhere.

The game cost over 78 million to develop according to an interview with Blueside's CEO Lee Sang-youn.

The game finally launched globally in English through Game Forge on November 14, 2019.
