Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide Overview

Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide is an online-focused co-op FPS created by Fatshark, the creators of War of the Roses and Escape Dead Island. The game pits players against Warhammer franchise's iconic Skaven race as they fight to take back the city of Ubersreik. Players will fight hordes of Skaven across thirteen levels with upwards of dozens of Skavens attacking at one time, all making use of their heightened mobility. Five unique heroes, each with their own distinct set of two weapons, will allow players to fight the horde in a way that fits their play style. At the end of each level, a random piece of loot will be given to the player, which can then be used to increase their character's power.

Development History / Background:

Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide was announced by Swedish developer Fatshark on February 5, 2015. In a post on the Playstation Blog Fatshark called it their most ambitious title to date. They also stated that they had learned "a great deal about working with melee combat" from building games like War of the Roses. It was later announced that the game would be released on October 23, 2015. Beta sign-ups opened on September 24, 2015 with several betas leading up to the October 23rd launch.
