Alteil: Horizons Launches On Steam, Suffers Launch Woes

As someone who played Alteil back in the day, I was rather excited to check out Alteil: Horizons, the successor of sorts that successfully raised $59,222 on Kickstarter back in 2013. The game launched on Steam last night, its RPG-esque card battles a mere download away. Over 2000 cards and a 20-adventure single-player story awaited.

But alas, it seems that the game was not quite ready for the influx of players. I've tried to play multiple times since last night, each of which has resulted in errors of various kinds. One time, I was stuck requesting opponent data endlessly during the tutorial. The next time, the my attempts to visit the store were met with an endless loading screen. A mere 15 minutes ago, I logged in to find that an endless stream of pop ups were notifying me of an internal server error when handling my request to initialize the navbar.

If in-game chat is any indication, the developers are actively working to solve any and all problems as soon as possible. However, it remains to be seen how long that will take.
