Multiplayer Survival RPG Frozen Flame Launches Into Early Access On Steam
Frozen Flame first popped up on our radar back in mid-2020 when its developer Dreamside Interactive launched a $130,000 crowdfunding campaign on Fig. The game promised a multiplayer online action survival experience with settlement construction, dynamic third-person battles, dungeons, pet taming, and more, and was initially scheduled to launch into early access that same year.
Unfortunately, those plans fell through and early access was delayed to the first quarter of 2022 and finally to fall 2022. All the while, the developers have been hard at work adding new content and gameplay systems and polishing the game. As of today, the crowdfunded multiplayer survival RPG has finally made the jump to early access with Ravenage Games as its publisher.
“The Early Access release of Frozen Flame serves as a robust foundation for Dreamside Interactive’s ambitions with the survival RPG, initially offering players an experience that ranges from 8 – 20 hours or more depending on how they play once they enter the world of Arcana,” touts Dreamside. “The campaign allows up to 4 players in local co-op and up to 10 players on private servers.”
Over the course of the game’s early access period, players can expect even more content coming their way, starting with the new Dragon’s Grove biome, a winter island and Christmas event, Chapter 2 of the campaign, new field bosses, new weapons and armor, and stone buildings coming in December.
January will see the addition of the new Dragon’s Grove Keeper boss, new Dragon’s Grove islands, new weapons, and new combat potions, while February will bring new Cursed islands and enemy types, new quests, an enchanting system, and musical instruments. All in all, it looks like Dreamside Interactive will be very busy during the holidays.
