Bohemia Interactive’s free-to-play multiplayer survival shooter, Vigor, has finally made its full debut on PC this week, five years after launching on Xbox One and four months after hitting early access on PC. PC users can now fully dive into Vigor’s post-war, Norway-inspired world, where scavenging and outlasting others is the name of the game.

“Players can now immerse themselves fully in the harsh, post-war world of Vigor, where survival is key, and every decision could mean life or death,” Bohemia Interactive shared. For those who dabbled in the early access version, be prepared for a clean slate: with the full launch comes a server wipe, though players who purchased the Vigor Reinforcements Pack can keep its content.

Accompanying the PC launch is Vigor Chronicles: Genesis, a retro-themed seasonal update packed with ‘80s war movie nostalgia and a new battle pass. However, all is not sunshine and retro glory—recent Steam reviews have been less than enthusiastic, with complaints pouring in over the mandatory wipe, poor PC performance compared to the console versions, and some grumbling over aggressive monetization.

One notable gripe is the game’s decision to remove access to retired battle passes, which once gave players the freedom to complete old seasons at their own pace. Now, that flexibility is gone, leaving some players feeling a little short-changed. Add to that over $600 worth of DLC options available to newcomers, and it’s no wonder some fans are frowning.

Vigor remains a unique entry in the crowded multiplayer survival shooter genre, but it seems like Bohemia Interactive has some work ahead to win over PC players.

For those brave enough to jump in, there’s still a lot of survival fun to be had—just expect a few bumps along the way!
