Overwatch 2’s game director, Aaron Keller, continues to delve into the hero shooter’s upcoming Invasion update in a new dev blog. This time around, he dives deeper into the upcoming Flashpoint PvP mode, offering insight into the Suravasa map’s design.

In the dev blog, Keller calls attention to the Suravasa’s quasi-symmetrical layout, spawn points, and the fact that the first capture point will always be in the center of the map. He also notes that their initial design for the map won’t be the same as the launch version but it paints a good picture of their design goals for the Flashpoint map.

Keller went on to once again talk about game balance which he says in a good state this season, particularly with regard to tank diversity, the damage hero meta, and more support hero choices. That being said, the team will still be fine-tuning hero balance in the upcoming mid-season balance patch that will introduce several adjustments to Zenyatta's Discord Orb, Torbjorn's and Symmetra's turrets, and Sojourn's Railgun spread.

He concluded the blog with yet another teaser for the next support hero coming to the game with new concept art showcasing a “solar threading ritual” which will play an integral part of the new hero’s backstory. Keller promises to reveal more information ahead of Invasion’s release. In the meantime, you can learn more about Flashpoint’s Suravasa map on the Overwatch 2 official site.
