EverQuest’s The Outer Brood Expansion Teases Big Dragons And Even Bigger Leviathans

Not to be outdone by its younger sibling, EverQuest is gearing up for its 31st expansion, The Outer Brood, and Daybreak Games just dropped tantalizing details about what awaits adventurers in Norrath this December.

“As you already know from Fippy Fest back in June, the name of this expansion is The Outer Brood,” says studio head Jenn Chan, setting the stage for the chaos to come. The premise? A massive leviathan with an entire city on its back has appeared over the long-forgotten region of Hodstock, and it's not there for sightseeing. “Terrifying monsters fly down from that city. Beasts that have never been seen in Norrath before! Where have they come from, and what could they possibly want?” We’re asking the same thing, Jenn, and frankly, we’re not sure we want to know.

These new invaders are so massive that even Norrath’s most ancient dragons feel like underdogs. “These beings are so large that few elder Norrathian dragons would stand above its knees!” Chan teased, hinting at the magnitude of the threat players will face in The Outer Brood.

Beta testing and preorders are set to kick off in late October, and players can expect to dive into the full expansion in December, just in time for the holiday season. And if The Outer Brood sounds like a challenge, EverQuest 2’s upcoming Scars of Destruction expansion should keep even the most seasoned MMORPG players on their toes.
