The wait is over for Lord of the Rings Online players as testing officially begins for the highly anticipated Legacy of Morgoth expansion on the Bullroarer test server. Players can finally get their first-hand look at this dark new chapter in Middle-earth’s history, featuring brand-new zones, updated gameplay systems, and an expanded level cap of 150.

The Legacy of Morgoth test build introduces adventurers to the Near Harad region, opening up two of the four planned zones: Ambarûl and Khûd Zagin. Players will face off against new challenges with over 350 quests, all set against the backdrop of Morgoth’s looming shadow. Dungeon-crawlers will also get their hands on the Ikorbân Valley dungeon, which promises intense battles and valuable rewards.

In addition to new content, the expansion brings with it some key updates. One of the highlights is the sweeping Elf avatar revamp, giving these timeless characters a much-needed visual overhaul. Another major change comes to the reputation system, in the form of a new catch-up mechanic for VIP players. If one character on a player’s account reaches kindred status with a faction, other characters on that server will earn a 10% bonus toward kindred standing for the same faction.

The test build also gives players a taste of the expansion’s long-awaited gameplay tweaks, including significant improvements to combat and crafting systems. With feedback already pouring in, the developers are hard at work ensuring a polished experience when the expansion officially launches later this year.

For those who thrive on PvP action, Legacy of Morgoth is expected to deliver larger-scale conflicts and dangerous new battlegrounds. Testing will continue in the coming weeks as players delve deeper into Morgoth’s sinister legacy, preparing for what promises to be one of Lord of the Rings Online’s most exciting expansions to date.
