Albion Online’s next major update, Horizons, is set to launch on October 28, and it promises to transform the game’s open world into a dynamic playground of risk and reward. Whether you’re a solo adventurer or love teaming up with friends for some good ol’ fashioned PvP, this update has something for everyone. Sandbox Interactive’s goal is to make the Outlands even more unpredictable and exciting with new content designed to appeal to both MMO newcomers and battle-hardened vets alike.

At the heart of the Horizons update are Dynamic Encampments, new mob camps that pop up randomly in various regions, offering personal rewards for players brave enough to tackle the challenges within. It’s like playing hide-and-seek—except the mobs hide, and you seek to destroy. Alongside these encampments are Dynamic Resource Hotspots, where gathering enthusiasts can score rare resources—if they can find them before someone else does.

For the lone wolves, the new S.A.F.E. Portals will teleport solo players from Portal Towns into the deeper parts of the Outlands, where rewards scale with the region’s difficulty. The further you venture into the PvP zone, the greater the loot—but beware, the risks are just as high. And if you’d rather test your strength with a group, Group Randomized Dungeons now offer boosted rewards exclusive to team play.

It’s not all about action, though. The Horizons update brings some serious quality-of-life improvements, including a fully customizable HUD editor—finally allowing you to tweak the UI to your liking. Want to make those health bars bigger or move your map to a different spot? Go for it! There’s also a new inventory system with adjustable slot sizes and improved sorting options, making item management a breeze.

In addition to all this, new Crystal Creatures, including shiny Crystal Beetles and Crystal Cobras, are slithering into the Outlands. These creatures, along with the increased spawn rates of Crystal Spiders, ensure there’s always something dangerous (and sparkly) lurking around the corner.

Just in case you missed it, you can check out last week’s developer update video below for an overview of the open-world improvements arriving with the Horizons update later this month.
