Thingsoft was founded in 2005 with help and funding from Neowiz, a South Korean online game publisher. In 2006, Neowiz fully acquired the company and integrated Thingsoft as a development studio. When Neowiz split into smaller companies in 2007, ThingSoft became Neowiz Games Development Studio before reverting back to their original name in 2010, when Sangwon Chung, along with ThingSoft’s founders and a few core developers decided to start a new and independent game development company. In 2013, the company was fully acquired by Nexon, another Korean gaming giant, and now operates as a subsidiary of Neople Inc., another subsidiary of Nexon.
