Among Us PC Daily Users Spikes To 2 Million After Epic Games Store Giveaway
Among Us, InnerSloth’s popular online whodunit game, has seen a significant rise in its daily player count on PC over the weekend after the game went free on the Epic Games Store as part of their weekly game giveaway promotion.
According to a Twitter post from Community Director Victoria Tran, they normally logged around 350,000 daily active users on PC on a typical Saturday. The daily active user count on PC, however, spiked to 2 million on Saturday, May 29, two days after the game was revealed as Epic’s free game of the week.
The sudden increase in player numbers can also be attributed to it being a long weekend in both the US and the UK, although the former may have played a bigger role considering how people love free stuff.
and here it is when it went free on Epic, May 27th
notes:
- this shows PC players only
- not all new players, many people grab Among Us on as many platforms as they can and were probably testing it out
- long weekend for Americans, possibly more ppl playing/giving small boost pic.twitter.com/wUag8a4i7A— Victoria Tran 🧋 (@TheVTran) May 31, 2021
