New Viking Survival Tribe Builder ASKA Kicks Off Closed Alpha Testing Today

Zombies, vampires, and Vikings seem to be the new trend for survival games nowadays as another Viking survival game called ASKA begins paving the way for its arrival on Steam. ASKA is a “multiplayer Viking survival tribe builder” from indie developer Sand Sailor Studio that’s scheduled to start closed alpha testing today.

“Build the ultimate Viking settlement and survive with your villagers. Land your ship in a foreign, ever-changing realm, make it your own and discover its secrets. Survive, build, craft, fight, farm and sail, but do not forget to prepare for the Dead Winter, when an ancient foe rises against you...”

Sand Sailor first unveiled ASKA at the PC Gaming Show last week just as the game’s official Steam page went live where the game’s creative director shared more information about its gameplay. “ASKA is a Viking themed open-world survival tribe builder, that places you in the role of a tribal leader landing your ship in a mystical ever-changing new realm,” he announced. “You have to survive, build, craft, fight, farm, sail and prepare for the Dead Winter as you seek to create a self-sustaining viking society.”

Up to four players will be able to work together to build a settlement and prepare them for the ancient threat that will arrive with the coming of winter. (White Walkers anyone?) Players will be in charge of assigning various jobs to villagers and building farms, castles, workshops, and mines to support their growing tribe. They’ll also be able to explore a mythical world as they gather resources and face off against deadly enemies.
