Colin Johanson Is Leaving ArenaNet, Mike O'Brien Takes Over As Guild Wars 2 Game Director

ArenaNet's Mike O'Brien announced through a Reddit AMA yesterday that Guild Wars 2 Game Director Colin Johanson would be leaving ArenaNet and that he would be stepping in as Game Director for the time being. According to Johanson, a new opportunity presented itself, allowing him to cut down on his commute and see his family more. O'Brien's tenure as Game Director is only temporary, however, as he will "eventually have to hire to replace [himself]."

The AMA also features some interesting tidbits. Various discussions about the state of WvW and other aspects of the game are discussed at considerable length. It seems that the current plan is to release updates to WvW in increments. O'Brien refers to the previous state of the system overhaul as a "log jam."
