Genshin Impact is ready to dazzle players again with its upcoming Version 5.1 update, charmingly titled The Rainbow Destined to Burn—because nothing screams impending danger quite like a poetic patch name. Arriving on October 9, this new update brings more of what fans have come to expect: a fresh batch of characters, quests, and quality-of-life improvements to keep players hooked.

At the heart of the update is Natlan, the latest region to feature in the anime action RPG’s main storyline. Players will join forces with Xilonen, a new Geo Sword wielder, as they work to save Natlan from the Abyss. Xilonen, described by HoYoverse as “a master forger and agile warrior,” brings a unique skillset to the table, including the ability to scale cliffs with style and deal elemental damage while healing her teammates.

Alongside the new Archon Quest, the update features the Sabzeruz Festival in Sumeru, complete with mini-games and a special birthday surprise for Nahida. Players will also get a crack at the newest boss, the fearsome Secret Source Constructor.

Version 5.1 doesn’t just stop at content additions—several quality-of-life upgrades are inbound too. Improvements to the Spiral Abyss, crafting, and character ascension systems will make grinding a little less grindy. Oh, and did we mention you’ll be able to skip certain Spiral Abyss floors now if you've already conquered them? Score.
