EA To Shut Down Four Free-To-Play Titles

EA games has announced that after another 90 days they will be dropping support and shutting down four of their free-to-play titles.  Battlefield Heroes, Battlefield Play4Free, Need for Speed World and FIFA World will continue their services for now, but support will wind down eventually ending in the shutting down of the game servers.

Patrick Soderlund of EA Studios writes,  "Recently, we’ve been looking closely at the types of PC free-to-play experiences that players are engaging with across the world.  For instance, Star Wars: The Old Republic is a game that continues to have a very enthusiastic and growing player community, and we have plans to introduce more new story-driven game updates to our Star Wars: The Old Republic players this year."   So on the bright side, SWTOR players have nothing to fear and can look forward to more updates.
