Ex-Hearthstone Devs Announce Marvel Snap Collectible Card Game
Snaps are apparently a big thing for Marvel Cinematic Universe, with several characters getting their snap on with the Infinity Gauntlet during the Avengers films. Well, brace yourselves for a new kind of snap as Nuverse and Second Dinner announce their new collectible card game – Marvel Snap.
“Featuring 150+ iconic Marvel characters, MARVEL SNAP brings together stunning art from Marvel’s rich 80 year history with beautiful, brand new original illustrations to deliver hundreds of collectible art pieces in an intense player vs. player (PVP) fast-paced CCG.”
The game is named after the “SNAP” mechanic that will allow players to raise the stakes and double the rewards of a match or even bluff their way to victory. “The mind games and bluffing inherent in this innovative mechanic create a game that is truly impossible to master,” touted the team.
Nuverse will be publishing the game globally while Second Dinner, a studio founded by Ben Brode and former Hearthstone developers, will be handling game development. The game will be free-to-play and will be launching on both mobile devices and PC later this year. Sign-ups for the Android beta test are now open for interested testers in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
