My.Games has outlined its 2024 roadmap for recently released free-to-play extraction shooter Hawked, and its rife with issues. Don’t worry it’s the good kind of issues as that’s what the team is calling the PvPvE title’s seasons, although its actual issues could honestly also use a bit of work.

According to the content roadmap, Hawked will feature year-long story arcs known as Books which will be divided into four Issues, one for each quarter of the year.

Issue #1: Renegades kicked off alongside the game’s early access launch on PC in November and will run for the remainder of this quarter. Surprisingly, the devs are already planning to make the shift from early access to global launch on PC, including Steam, the My.Games launcher, and GeForce Now, within the next two months.

Hawked’s global launch will also mark its official arrival on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Xbox One version, however, has been delayed for more work. “We need more time to ensure a solid experience that's on a level with players on other platforms. As soon as we’re confident we can deliver this, we’ll announce a new date,” the developers explained.

The full release version will also bring Chapters 2 and 3 of the Discover the X-Isles storyline featuring new quests and updates to the Renegade Pass. Prior to that, players can look forward to the Lunar New Year event in February and various game improvements throughout Q1 2024. That includes a complete rework of the user interface, better character movement, and other quality-of-life improvements.

Q2 2024 will see the start of Issue #2, promising Ranked PvP matches based on the recently introduced Contracts feature, a Codex feature to track progress and collectible items, and the game’s launch on the Epic Games Store, Windows Store, and Steam Deck.

Issue #3 comes out in Q3 2024, featuring new locations and storylines (presumably connected to something called the Fringe), new weapons and enemies, and a brand-new “otherworldly” NPC. Crafting and the Black Market (auction house?) will also be introduced within the quarter.

Q4, of course, will bring Issue #4 and the final chapter of Book One’s story arc. It also promises a glimpse of a new world map, Fringe Tech weapons, and a big limited-time event. The details of the event will be revealed later this year, but it sounds like it’s going to be a world-ending event of some kind, similar to the way Fortnite closes out its seasonal chapters. “It’s set to go out with a major bang!” teased My.Games.

In any case, 2024 is going to be an extremely eventful year for Hawked players with an ambitious roadmap chock full of new content and features. Let’s just hope that the dev team can keep up the pace until the end of the year and beyond.
