It’s turning out to be the year of PvPvE extraction shooters as MY.GAMES prepares to launch their own addition to the genre in the form of Hawked. The Indiana Jones-styled third-person shooter is set to kick off a limited-time open beta test next week.

“Hawked is an extraction-shooter in which teams of three players race to collect and extract Artifacts from a remote island called X-Isle. Players (also known as Renegades) compete against each other to secure and extract Artifacts that can only be reached by fighting monsters, other players, solving puzzles and avoiding traps.”

Along the way, players will also come across other treasures that they’ll be able to take with them should they manage to make it out of the island in one piece. These can be sold for in-game currency which can then be used to upgrade the Artifacts they find and increase the potency of their passive effects. Currency can also be used to purchase unique weapons and gear such as boomerangs, a scouting falcon, and deployable cover, among others.

Players will have access to a total of 21 Artifacts and 14 gear options that will allow players to tailor-fit their Renegades to their preferred playstyles. The island itself poses numerous challenges, including puzzles to unlock treasure rooms and dynamic events that spontaneously appear, which should keep players constantly on their toes.

The Hawked open beta test will be held via Steam from August 3rd to August 17th. In the meantime, you can check out the official open beta trailer below.
