Helldivers 2 Conquers Persistent Launch Issues Just In Time For The Weekend Rush

Helldivers 2 finally sees the end of its launch woes after a week or so of hard work and sleepless nights for the team at Arrowhead Games. After raising the server cap to 700,000 and implementing a strict 15-minute AFK timer, both the developers and the co-op shooter’s players were able to get through the weekend rush without any major issues.

“I’m really happy and proud of the [Arrowhead Games] team for an amazing achievement, the servers handled all [Helldivers 2] players this weekend without problem,” tweeted Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt. “Now we have time to focus on improvements to the title and resume our original plan. Many exciting things upcoming!”

One of the “things” that’s already in the pipeline are mech suits, which were teased in the Report for Duty trailer earlier this month and are set to arrive “soon after launch.” Pilestedt also hinted at the addition of suppressors and subsonic ammo on X this weekend, both of which are apparently already live in the test build.

Now that the devs have ironed out most of the launch kinks, players can now start blasting away at alien bugs on Draupnir and Mantes without having to worry about login issues and queue times. See you on the frontlines!
