Hi-Rez Studios is undergoing major restructuring in an effort to streamline its operations and refocus its priorities for future growth. As part of the process, Hi-Rez has absorbed several of its subsidiaries into itself to create an entirely new and bigger entity called Hi-Rez Ventures.

Hi-Rez Ventures is split into three business units that will operate independently of each other, namely: Titan Forge Games, Evil Mojo Games, and Rally Here Interactive. Titan Forge and Evil Mojo are the studios behind SMITE and Paladins, respectively, while Rally Here Interactive is a new company founded earlier this year former Hi-Rez CEO Steward Chisam.

Titan Forge will continue to operate and oversee the live service operations of SMITE and its brawler spinoff Divine Knockout. The studio is also currently working on an undisclosed game set in the same universe. Evil Mojo will remain in charge of Paladins in addition to two other Hi-Rez games – Realm Royale and Rogue Company.

Rally Here Interactive, on the other hand, will focus on providing software-as-a-service solutions to game developers looking to create cross-platform live service games. It will also play a vital role in the live service operations of both Titan Forge and Evil Mojo.

In line with the restructuring, Hi-Rez will no longer operate as a publisher. Instead, future game releases will be published under the banners of Titan Forge or Evil Mojo, depending on the specific title. To further streamline operations, First Watch Games will be integrated into Evil Mojo Games, while RedBeard Games studio will be merged with Titan Forge Games.

While the restructuring will undoubtedly help Hi-Rez Ventures weather the financial storm sweeping through the video game industry, it unfortunately also means that the studio will have to lay off an undisclosed number of its employees. Nevertheless, it’s a necessary move to ensure the company’s continued growth during these challenging times. Our sympathies go out to those who were affected by the layoffs.
