Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive has acquired Killing Floor series co-developer Antimatter Games. The acquisition comes as Antimatter prepares to close its doors, prompting Behaviour Interactive to step in and incorporate the existing staff, which has now been rebranded as Behaviour – South.

Executive vice presidents Wayne Meazza and Stephen Mulrooney shed light on the implications of this acquisition for the future of the Dead by Daylight studio in a recent interview with PCGamesN.

“The new studios will be part of Behaviour’s services division and will enhance Behaviour’s industry-leading external development capabilities, working on games for other publishers and developers,” Meazza said. “Dead by Daylight, along with titles like Meet Your Maker, is handled by a different division.”

The addition of AntiMatter’s team also opens up possibilities for new games across different genres. Despite having an impressive portfolio that includes Meet Your Maker and Hooked on You dating sim, Dead by Daylight remains Behaviour’s most popular title. Stephen expressed that with the AntiMatter team on board, the studio now has the capacity to explore any genre, as long as they can deliver an unparalleled gaming experience for players.

Meanwhile, Dead by Daylight players can expected continued support from the Canadian teams as Behaviour Interactive continues to grow with the arrival of its new UK team and potential acquisitions in the future.
