Coca-Cola Teams Up With Riot Games On New League Of Legends Limited-Edition Flavor

In yet another weird video game collaboration, Coca-Cola and Riot Games have teamed up to create a mysterious flavor known as Coca-Cola “Ultimate.” According to the press release, the new limited-edition beverage will supposedly capture the taste of “experience points” in League of Legends. What experience points taste like is honestly beyond me.

While the press release touts the collaboration as Coca-Cola’s first time teaming up with a gaming company on a soda flavor, that’s not necessarily the case. Coke collaborated with Epic Games just last year to launch a Fortnite-inspired flavor called Byte. Unfortunately, for the video game community and the soda-drinking public in general, these unique flavors are typically more marketing ploys than culinary masterpieces and will unlikely be winning any taste awards.

Coca-Cola Ultimate will be available in selected markets, including North America, South America, China, South Korea, and Africa, starting next week. In the meantime, Riot is running an in-game event where players can earn exclusive “Ultimate” emotes by completing a series of event missions from now until July 18th.
