Lineage 2 Available On Steam November 12th

NCSoft is focusing on making Lineage 2 available to Steam players on November 12th, after Aion's successful implementation on the paltform. Steam support allows for a list of extraneous goodies for players, including trading cards, emoticons, and badges. Who doesn't want to wear a Lineage 2 badge of honor on their Steam profile?

A shiny new server named Zaken will be launched along with the Steam release to support new and returning players. If you're a real go-getter Zaken is the place to be to achieve server-first accomplishments. The official announcement reminds future players to add the game to their wishlist so players will be notified as soon as Lineage 2 is available.

Aion is doing quite well, averaging 1,000 players at the time of this writing—although enough time hasn't passed to make an accurate player-base assessment. Steam releases make the games far more accessible to an audience heavily dependent on Valve's all-in-one system. Future games ought to abandon their own clients in favor of Steam (such as Tree of Savior) to reach larger audiences—but that's just my humble opinion.

While I played Lineage 2 years ago I'm far too distracted by other games at the moment to return to the nostalgia-tinted universe. Will you be playing Lineage 2 on November 12th?
