Marvel Heroes Is Headed To Consoles As "Marvel Heroes Omega"

Gazillion announced today that it too will be getting in on the trend of releasing MMOs on consoles, as Marvel Heroes will be launching later this spring on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One using the title "Marvel Heroes Omega." The announcement was made via the PlayStation Blog, which means that the announcement only discussed the PlayStation 4 version, which will be launching first, but an official FAQ for the console releases was published today and said FAQ confirmed the Xbox One version.

The FAQ also notes that there will be several differences between the PC and console versions. The key difference is that, whereas the PC version recently received its 60th playable character, only 38 characters will be playable in the console version at launch. It will also feature less playable content at launch.

As the console versions will be different from the PC version, players will not be able to transfer their progress from the PC version to either of the console versions. What's more, cross-platform play has already been ruled out for the same reason.

The PlayStation 4 version is set to enter Closed Beta sometime in the near future, with Founder's Packs being the primary way to obtain Closed Beta access. Founder's Pack owners will also have exclusive access to Iron Fist and War Machine for six months after launch.

You can read more about the upcoming console versions of Marvel Heroes on the PlayStation Blog or the official forums.
