After over a year of wrestling with various stability and performance issues in Mortal Online 2, Star Vault has recently begun injecting new gameplay systems and content into the PvP sandbox MMORPG. Over the past few months, the team were able to introduce dynamic weather, a beast mastery system, pet skills, and elemental magic.

Now, they’re just about ready to finally introduce the promised Territory Control system that was initially supposed to arrive shortly after the game’s launch. According to the developers, they decided to delay the release of the new mechanics until they were sure that their server infrastructure could support hundreds of players in a single battle.

In his latest developer stream, Star Vault founder and CEO Henrik Nyström shows off some of the structures that players will be able to build when the Territory Control update hits the live servers. The structures will apparently function much like player housing in other MMOs and will have upgradeable tiers.

Each upgrade will not only change the structure’s appearance but will also unlock new features and functionality, as well as various bonuses. Players will also be able to build close to each other to form settlements that they can eventually build up into a player town.

Nyström promises to reveal more information about Territory Control and the process of claiming land in an upcoming livestream. Star Vault has yet to announce a date for the livestream but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as word comes out. In the meantime, you can take a peek at some of the player-build structures coming to the game on the Mortal Online 2 official site and the latest developer stream below.
