It’s a big week for Naraka: Bladepoint as the martial arts-inspired battle royale kicks off its 2nd anniversary celebrations, launches on PlayStation 5, and makes the promised transition to a free-to-play business model.

NetEase has dropped an FAQ offering insight into their decision to shift to a free-to-play model and more information on what features are available to F2P players and which ones are available to those who own paid versions of the game. It also confirms that a PlayStation Plus account isn’t required to play (although subscribers will get access to extra in-game goodies), and that cross-play will be supported but not cross-progression.

As for the anniversary celebrations, the team has kicked off several events to mark the occasion including a Capture the Well mode, a roguelike card game mode, and a daily login campaign. Rewards will also be granted to players who participate in anniversary activities and for inviting friends to join the festivities.

Meanwhile, the game’s latest update has opened up a new specialized practice mode and a new lobby area, and introduced dual halberd weapons, a new battle pass, and several other new features. The update also kicked off a special collaboration event with streamer Maximilian Dood, featuring a Takeda Nobutada skin in his likeness.

Don’t forget to watch the new free-to-play gameplay trailer below, or better yet, you can jump into the game right now without spending a dime.
