Old School RuneScape Rolls Out Its First Subscriber Quest Of The Year

Old School RuneScape is starting off the year with a sunny new subsrcriber-exclusive quest called Children of the Sun. The aptly named questline paves the way for the journey to the Kingdom of Varlamore, a.k.a. the Shining Kingdom, and its associated questline.

“Children of the Sun begins on the familiar streets of Varrock, where a delegation from Varlamore has arrived to sign a treaty with the rulers of Misthalin. It’s a day for celebration, but something’s amiss… you’d better find out what’s going on!”

The reward for completing the quest is a quest point and access to the Shining Kingdom when it opens its doors sometime within the next few months. Meanwhile, the developers have also made significant changes to the Great Kourend region based on player feedback. This includes the removal of the Kourend favor system, improvements to transport and travel within the zone, and adjustments to the Kharedst’s Memoirs book.

Jagex also promised various tweaks and adjustments to activities within the soon-to-be-opened Varlamore Kingdom with particular focus on the agility course. The studio also teased more activities for higher level players in future updates.
