"Japan's #1 competitive card collecting game," Shadowverse, officially made its PC debut early this morning when it launched on Steam. Developed by Cygames, which is also known as the developer of Granblue Fantasy and Rage of Bahamut, the game is much like Hearthstone, but with a twist: Players can "evolve" cards mid-battle to increase their power.

Shadowverse features over 500 cards, seven "unique" hero classes, and seven "fully-voiced interweaving campaign stories." The Steam version includes the most recent update, Darkness Evolved, which introduced over 100 cards.

Shadowverse Producer and Executive Director at Cygames Yuito Kimura had the following to say about the announcement.

We’ve been excited to watch our mobile players dive into the deep strategic gameplay of Shadowverse, and we couldn’t be happier to bring the hit card battler to PC. Not only will we be able to reach new players who will love the unique gameplay mechanics like the ability to evolve your cards in the middle of the battle, we’ll also allow our current fans to choose which platform they’d like to play on.

In celebration of the Steam launch, anyone who logs into the game using the new PC version between now and November 30th will be granted 5 Standard Card Pack Tickets.
