If you still can’t get over zombie survival games, then here’s one that you probably overlooked. Indie developed Project Zomboid is an isometric multiplayer zombie survival sandbox game that’s been in early access on Steam for nearly a decade now and has recently been updated after more than a year.

“Project Zomboid is the ultimate in zombie survival. Alone or in MP: you loot, build, craft, fight, farm and fish in a struggle to survive. A hardcore RPG skillset, a vast map, massively customisable sandbox and a cute tutorial raccoon await the unwary. So how will you die? All it takes is a bite…”

The game has received a slew of updates over the years with “Very Positive” reviews on Steam and an active modding community. The latest update marks a huge step in the game’s development with the addition of a new city called Louisville, a revamped tutorial, enhanced animations, additional game modes, and a whole host of improvements across the board.

Developer The Indie Stone reports that the game is currently 75% complete but have yet to announce a launch date or at least a window for the game’s release.

Project Zomboid is available on Steam and GoG starting at $14.99 for the base edition. You can check out the latest trailer and our gameplay footage from 2016 down below.
