Fortright Entertainment and Blood Eater Games takes a page from slasher movie tropes in its new four-player co-op game, Sanguivore: Twenty Below. The game launched into Steam Early Access at the top of the month, promising a first-person escape room-inspired experience where players will need to work together to escape various areas while evading and outsmarting bloodthirsty monsters called Sanguivore.

“Step into the shoes of desperate survivors trapped in a nightmarish town, each corner teeming with dread. Your mission spans across four distinct areas, each posing its own unique challenges and offering four potential escape routes. Your journey to freedom hinges on your ability to scavenge for tools, solve intricate puzzles, and maintain your wits, all while being relentlessly pursued by bloodthirsty monstrosities.”

Teamwork plays an important part of the game as you divide up tasks like scavenging for makeshift weapons and supplies while the rest of the team works on solving puzzles and working on a way to escape. Think Dead by Daylight meets Redfall.

You’ll also often be required to split up (yikes) so you can work on your designated tasks at the same time and find an escape route faster. Extremely brave (or foolish) souls can also take on the challenge by themselves.

Levels get bigger and increasingly harder as you move your way up from a small room to an entire town. Along the way, you’ll earn experience points and shards that you can use to unlock new perks and skills that will go a long way towards helping you escape the larger maps. You’ll also be able to unlock various cosmetic skins, so you can face the nightmarish challenges in style.

Blood Eater Games promises more maps and monsters over the next few months as they work their way towards full release.
