Tarisland Is Streamlining Its Crafting System And Making It More Rewarding
Tencent continues to rework Tarisland’s gameplay systems to address feedback gathered from the last closed beta test. One of the pain points that testers noted was that the crafting system was too complicated.
“We have learned that some players find Crafting to be too complex and time-consuming, with low outputs, impacting both the in-game economy and player experience,” Tencent reports.
In response, the team plans to simplify the entire system with a focus on removing complex items and recipes, making recipes easier to obtain, and lowering their material requirements. They also plan to increase material availability and overall crafting output to meet daily use and trading needs. Several items will also be moved out of the crafting system and made into PvE drops.
“As mentioned earlier, armor sets cannot be crafted but are exclusive to raids,” the team explains. “On this basis, we will further limit the equipment quality and parts produced by Crafting to prioritize PVE gameplay. This ensures a fairer playing field, preventing players from gaining an unfair advantage through Crafting and trading.”
The Tarisland Discord community’s response, however, is surprisingly mixed, not because of the changes themselves, but because of the constant changes and reworks being applied to the game since its announcement.
Meanwhile, Tencent still hasn’t locked in a launch date for the free-to-play MMORPG which was originally slated for release in 2023.
