Survival Horror MMO The Day Before Gets Off To An Extremely Rough Start On Steam

After five years in development, multiple delays, and a trademark scuffle, The Day Before officially launched on Steam yesterday but didn’t quite receive the welcome that it was expecting. The survival horror MMO has been met with “Overwhelmingly Negative” reviews on the platform since its release and players are now clamoring for refunds.

One review perfectly sums up the game’s current state and reads, “Ah, I get it now. This game was made The Day Before launch.” Other reviewers noted its lack of content (and zombies), extremely buggy and boring gameplay, non-existent survival mechanics and progression, unoriginal assets (despite claims to the contrary), game crashes, and disconnection issues, among a long list of other player complaints.

All of that would probably have been forgivable for a free-to-play early access title, but The Day Before comes with a rather hefty $39.99 price tag and players are now demanding their money back. I guess we know why its developer decided to prelude the game’s launch with a weird welcome statement earlier this week.
