Under A Rock Is An Upcoming Multiplayer Survival Crafting Game With Disney Pixar Vibes
Under a Rock is a colorful new open-world multiplayer survival crafting game from Chinese indie developer Nordic Trolls and Gameforge. Players take on the role of early 19th century hot air balloon explorers stranded on a mysterious island where magic is real and creatures have evolved differently from the rest of the world.
Nordic Trolls describes it as, “A procedural open-world survival craft game for 1-10 players. Explore a primitive but dangerous place with a different evolutionary path; here, wildlife is oversized, Neanderthals still exist, and curses are real.”
The game’s animation style is reminiscent of a Disney Pixar movie. Theres even a quirky dodo-like bird that looks a lot like the one from the animated film, Up.
Under a Rock follows the same formula as your typical survival crafting game. You wake up in some isolated island, gather resources, craft tools, build a base, do a little exploring, die to a cute but unexpectedly lethal creature, gather more resources, do a lot more exploring and build up your base even more until you’re living large in a sprawling wooden mansion with not a care in the world.
Along the way, you’ll also be able to tame the local wildlife to use them as mounts and take advantage of their unique abilities.
Under a Rock will be available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation, and Xbox. Early access launch is “still a bit away” according to the game’s Steam page, but there’s an announcement trailer below that you can drool over for the time being.
