Watch Out For The New Steam Library Look, Beta Test Starts Later This Month

Since Steam launched nearly 16 years ago, the platform's games library page has remained virtually the same. Valve, however, is planning to update the age-old Steam library page with a sleek new look and a number of nifty new features and is asking the help of Steam users to help them test it out.

"[. . .] A good library shouldn't just be dusty shelves, it has to be a fun place to explore and find whatever it is that you're looking for. Whether you want to keep up to date about what's happening with your games, find a game to play with your friends, or explore what's happening in your game's community, your library should support you."

Starting September 17th, anyone with a Steam account will be able to opt-in to the beta test of the revamped library page. The updated library will feature a new modern-looking landing page which will allow users to easily view their collection and useful information such as recently played games, recent updates, and what games their friends are playing. The new Event System will also notify users of major game updates and special in-game events.
