Wayfinder Surprise Drops Cross-Play Between PC and PS5 Ahead of Full Launch

Airship Syndicate’s Wayfinder just rolled out a surprise feature that’s sure to unite adventurers across platforms: cross-play between PC via Steam and PlayStation 5. While this feature is in “preview mode” ahead of the game’s official full launch on October 15, the addition lets players from both platforms team up, with Airship Syndicate using this period to iron out any last-minute bugs before the big day.

“Players on PC and PS5 can now team up directly by entering the lobby invite code of their friends on other platforms!” developer Airship Syndicate announced. It’s as simple as grabbing an invite code from the Find Party menu, sharing it with friends, and jumping into the action.

The game returned to PlayStation 5 last month, adding to its PC player base, and now with cross-play, players can band together across both platforms for epic loot runs. Those annoying game crashes and missing-party bugs have also been addressed in this latest update.

The return of cross-play marks another step in Wayfinder’s winding journey. The game was initially launched as a free-to-play MMO under Digital Extremes before shifting gears into a buy-to-play co-op ARPG. After some internal changes (and a few layoffs), Airship Syndicate took over the reins and rebooted the game. Now, it’s all about streamlined co-op action with no cash shop in sight—just pay once and play.

Wayfinder might not have stuck to its original path, but it’s charting a new course straight to full launch on October 15.
