S2 Games is an American game development and publishing company and one of the big names in the MOBA genre. Their games were originally distributed through third party platforms such as Desura and Steam, but is now handled solely by S2. They have published few games, with most of them centered around the Newerth universe that S2 has been developing since their very first release.

S2 Games was founded by Marc "Maliken" DeForest in 2001 in Rohnert Park, California. Their current headquarters is located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. With a company motto of, "Dedicated employees serving dedicated gamers. Continuous development. Never-ending improvement", they've released a handful of online games. Although they previously released one-time-purchase games, S2 has since taken on the free-to-play model and seems to be running with it. Now a self-proclaimed leader in the free-to-play MOBA genre with their flagship game, Heroes of Newerth, S2 Games seeks to stay firmly rooted within the field and expand to new audiences. While some critics claim that Valve's DotA 2 and Riot's LoL have left HoN behind in the dust, HoN still boasts significant numbers globally, and is the 3rd most played game in the Philippines. On May 5, 2015, S2 Games sold their MOBA "Heroes of Newerth" to Garena to better focus on Strife and other products.
