Crossout Overview

Crossout is the latest project by Targem Games and Gaijin Entertainment of War Thunder fame. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world following the double whammy of an alien invasion and a genetic testing project gone wrong. Players salvage, purchase, and barter for parts and customize their unique war machines to help them survival in the harsh environment. Crossout looks like an amazing combination of Mad Max and BattleBots. The core gameplay is inspired by other built it and battle it games like Robocraft and Galactic Junk League.

Crossout Key Features:

  • Gritty Dystopian Setting set in a harsh environment where survival requires strapping miniguns on top of pickup trucks.
  • Large Weapon Arsenal – create a custom killing machine using chainsaws, power drills, machine guns, and other weapons.
  • Customized Vehicles create a unique vehicle from dozens of interchangeable parts. Similar to Robocraft / Galactic Junk League. If you can dream it you can build it.
  • Player Driven Economy every car part earned in battle can be traded between players. Crafting and trading plays a big role in the game.
  • Workshop – players can craft their own parts in the workshop and sell them on the marketplace.
  • Advanced Damage Models damaging specific parts of enemy machines affects their performance.

As long as it's Targem doing the actual developing and not Gaijin, I might be interested in trying it out. WT still feels like it's in beta and woefully incomplete after 2+ years of being available to the public, and the 'MMO' part of the game is a complete sham, really. "Levelling up" does NOT equal MMO, just because everyone gets to queue in the same lobby for 16v16 games that last a maximum of 45 minutes.

Please, god, let this game be different and not just a shallow cash-grab.

    • Fair enough. Everyone uses the term "MMO" liberally these days. We just roll with it. World of Tanks isn't technically an "MMO" either, but it's still called one. Cross Out reminds me of Mad Max and Twisted Metal.

Crossout is actually the descend of Hard Truck Apocalypse.

    • Dunna

Well i hope so it will be different that WOT/WT,sine i dont want 15v15 battleast in a post apocalyptic elite like game. I want a gameplay like in Hard Truck Apocalypse. No cash grab, only playing. And i hope they will be fine Singleplayer too,it was good in Hard Truck Apocalypse and HTA:ROC

Nothing about this game is FREE! Other than installing it. They even charge you tax. I`am $70.00 in the hole on this one. and Still cant built half the stuff on youtube. level 16 and still just a stepping stone for other players. And its FULL of AIM BOTS! So if you install this one, you better have deep pockets.

Stay away from anything that claims to be "FREE". ESPECIALLY MMO's online. Yes there are a few and they are far between. But good luck. After 12 years and counting I still will stick to guild wars.

Absolute rip off of a game paypay and pay you cannot even build gear withso paying these are the worst kind of Devs!

  • Yep

With all the money they make from this game you'd hope they'd invest SOME money in to better servers and net code, yet the game STILL rubber bands all over the place and you lag steer to the point where driving a straight line ends up fish tailing. When you try this game in "test drive" mode it puts you in a map without any other players and it is buttery smooth, as soon as you go for PVP the driving goes to hell and you're left with a half baked game. Considering how much emphasis is put on driving and positioning so that you can actually use tactics you'd think they'd at the very least allow you to drive where you want, instead of lagging you in to every fucking tree on the map. Wake up devs, we're waking up to you, and your bullshit money grabs won't work any more.
