Perfect World and Cryptic Games announced today that Neverwinter's ninth expansion, The Maze Engine, would be launching this Spring on PC—and "at a later date" on Xbox One. The Maze Engine follows the end of Underdark and the defeat of Demogorgon, which made way for the rise of two new "demon lords," the "iconic Dungeons & Dragons enemies" Baphomet and Orcus. Drizzt Do'Urden returns, alongside "Minsc, Bruenor Battlehammer, Regis, and more."

Five dungeons are returning in The Maze Engine, refreshed with "more content" to help players on their way to level 70. Castle Never has "received a massive overhaul" due to the fact that Orcus has seized control. Further updates, such as a "new campaign," a new feature called "The Stable" that will allow players to customize mounts, and an "improved queue system" will also be included when the expansion launches this Spring.
