Rocket League won Best Independent Game and Best Sports/Racing Game at The Game Awards last night. But more importantly, The Game Awards are where Psyonix announced that it's finally coming to Xbox One. Coming in February 2016, the Xbox One version of Rocket League will be bundled with Supersonic Fury, Revenge of the Battle Cars, and Chaos Run as part of the base package. There will also be "multiple exclusive customization items" included. Two Xbox One-exclusive cars, the Halo "HogSticker," based on the series' iconic Warthog vehicle, and the Gears of War "Armadillo"—both pictured above—will also be included for those that get the game on Xbox One.

One matter that was not covered in the announcement was that of cross-platform play. Currently, PC and PS4 players can play together via matchmaking, but Sony and Microsoft have been notorious for disallowing cross-platform play between their consoles. It remains to be seen whether Xbox One players will be a part of this matchmaking pool or not.

Update: A PR representative for Psyonix confirmed that the Xbox One version will not provide cross-platform play with the other versions of the game. This is unfortunate for prospective Xbox One players, considering the fact that the other two platforms are able to play together.
