Sandbox Interactive offers up in-depth information on Albion Online’s upcoming Crystal Raiders update ahead of its release with. The update is set to launch on January 8 and will introduce the new territory raiding mechanics, Crystal Weapons, and several other territory-related adjustments.

Crystal Raiders promises to shake up territory warfare in Albion Online with the introduction of Raw Energy in territories. They’re generated by Siphoning Mages and are then refined into Siphoned Energy over time and can be stolen during territory raids.

A territory’s Energy Storage will become attackable every day at prime time. During that time, players must defeat all Siphoning and Sentry Mages before they’ll be able to raid the territory itself.

“After a successful Raid, 50% of the Stored Energy is stolen in the form of four Raw Energy Cores, which can be transported back to another guild’s territory,” Sandbox Interactive explains. “However, if they don’t reach a new territory within 30 minutes, these Raw Energy Cores will revert back to their original territory.”

“With higher frequency than other territory warfare mechanics, Territory Raiding opens new avenues for Albion’s guilds and encourages action throughout the day,” the studio added.

In addition to the new territory warfare mechanics, Crystal Raiders will also introduce various tweaks and changes to the territories itself. Siphoned Energy and Season Point gains from territories in the inner part of the Outlands will be increased along with control costs for territories near portal towns. Attack costs, on the other hand, will be updated to scale up with the region’s quality and tower level.
