Last Friday, DICE officially revealed Battlefield 1, the latest entry in the long-running series of combined arms FPS games. The title will take players back to World War I, allowing up to 64 players to fight it out with battleships, biplanes, tanks, and other technology appropriate to the era. The campaign will take players through a variety of battlefields, including a French city, the Italian Alps, and the Arabian desert.

DICE Senior Producer Aleksander Grøndal had the following to say about the announcement.

The game will deliver a fresh experience full of what makes Battlefield great, with a multiplayer sandbox, immersion, epic scale, authenticity, team play and an ever-changing world full of unexpected Battlefield moments. We’re inviting players on an epic journey across a war-torn world, taking them to the Great War and providing something both varied and unique in Battlefield 1.

Battlefield 1 is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 21st. You can get a first look at what the game might look like in the trailer below.  More information can be found on the official website.
