Corepunk Gameplay: PvE Combat

Key Updates and Features in Alpha 3 Test:

  • Efficiency Mechanics Overhaul: The influence of efficiency on proc chances has been removed. Now, the ability to gather rare resources and craft high-quality items will unlock at specific efficiency levels, which become progressively harder to increase.
  • Profession Lock Feature: Players can now lock the efficiency level of their professions, which prevents changes when engaging in related activities, though mana and gold will be consumed based on the player's level.
  • Economy and Trading Enhancements: Crafted items will now have inherent value and can be sold to NPCs for gold. Player-to-player item trading will be enabled, although gold remains non-tradeable to prevent real money trade (RMT) issues and botting. This test will provide valuable data to refine the trading system for early access.

World Expansion and PvP/PvE Dynamics:

  • World Map Expansion: The game world will increase by about 40%, unlocking new eastern territories beyond Goldenfield. Each area on the map will follow specific PvE or PvP rules.
  • PvE Zones: The western territories will focus on PvE activities with minimal PvP interaction. These zones are designed for exploration, questing, and resource gathering.
  • PvP Zones: The eastern territories will operate under PvP rules, where players can earn honor points without karma penalties for player kills. Valuable items can be looted in these zones, although they must be secured in safe areas to be usable.

Narrative and Quest Enhancements:

  • Expanded Narrative: The narrative team has introduced 150 new quests, including two main plotlines and various side stories that delve deeper into the game's lore.
  • Quest Journal Updates: A new version of the quest journal will be available, improving the questing experience.

Looking Ahead:

The developers plan to structure the game's narrative in seasons, with each episode offering unique quests and thematic content. While the Alpha 3 test will include the pilot episode and a subsequent chapter, future updates will introduce additional episodes, enriching the storyline and the game world.
