Covering All of the Highlights of FFXIV's Live Letter #41

Final Fantasy XIV has just concluded its marathon 3-hour "Letter from the Producer LIVE, Part XLI," and we have a lot of details to go over. We have covered a lot of Final Fantasy XIV news already, so this will be a brief glance-over of what to expect in Patch 4.2 - after all, the Patch Notes for Patch 4.2 aren't even out yet! We can expect those sometime before January 30th, which is when Patch 4.2 goes live. Without further ado, the highlights of Live Letter 41.

• Maintenance for Patch 4.2 will take 24 hours.
• Omega: Sigmascape will feature old Final Fantasy VI Bosses
  • Old faces such as Doom Train and Kefka make a return
• Job Adjustments
  • Buffs for Warrior and Dark Knight, DPS nerf to Paladin
  • General Machinist buffs, Hypercharge nerfed by 1%
  • Black Mage sees Fire IV potency buffs, buff to Fire 3 and Thunder proc duration
    • Aetherial Manipulation has a shorter cooldown
    • Transpose has a shorter cooldown
  • Monk will see Wind Tackle now apply Greased Lightning. Brotherhood affects the Monk who cast it now, and shorter cooldowns on Mantra and Perfect Balance
• Elemental Materia and Elemental Properties now only work in Eureka: Anemos. They have been removed from everywhere else
• Housing Updates
  • Coming with Patch 4.2, there will be six new wards, and subdivisions.
  • Plots will be purchasable one week after Patch 4.2,
  • Plots designated for Free Companies can only be purchased by Free Companies with at least four members
  • Individuals will be restricted from purchasing plots for personal use for a limited time.
    • You'll still be able to relocate. Square Enix observing the situation and remove this restriction later.
    • When new plots are added in the future, we’ll apply the same measures.
  • Players will be permitted to own only one private and one free company estate per World per service account.
    • If Character A is on World A, and Character B is on World B, then a player can own a total of four houses (two Free Company, two Personal). 
  • Plots relinquished by owners will be unavailable for purchase for a limited time. The time when the plot becomes available is set at random, and will not be displayed anywhere.
    • This is a direct measure to combat plot re-sellers
• Omega Sigmascape, and Omega Sigmascape (Savage) will launch at the same time.
• Harp, Grand Piano, Steel Guitar, and Pizzicato instruments were all added to the Perform action for Bards
• Glamour Updates
  • Items stored in the Glamour Dresser are not deleted, and can be removed at any time. However, placing them in the Glamour Dresser allows for their use in Glamour Ensembles
  • Glamour Ensembles are glamours that go over regular gear, and in the future, can be assigned to specific gear sets.
    • This kind of system enables Tank players to use their Artifact Sets as Glamour, but keep the same armor set underneath, without causing conflict.
