Dark and Darker won’t be coming back to Steam anytime soon due to the ongoing copyright complaint against it, but Epic Games seems to have no such qualms in adding the controversial dungeon extraction game to its storefront. The game’s Epic Games Store page is now live in preparation for its launch on the platform and possibly to other storefronts as well.

“As a first step, we are happy to announce the launch of the Dark and Darker store page on the Epic Games Store,” the indie studio announced. “This is a big preparatory step for us in our journey to deliver a polished product to our fans.”

“If you have an Epic account, we encourage you to show your enthusiasm and wishlist the game,” the studio added. “We will continue working with various partners to give our fans the best options and properly grow the community to foster a long and healthy game.”

The Dungeons and Dragons-inspired extraction title was yanked from Steam in March 2023 after Nexon filed a DMCA complaint alleging that it used stolen code from one of their discontinued projects, codenamed Project P3. The South Korean publisher later filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Ironmace which is currently awaiting trial in a South Korean court.

Despite the lawsuit, Ironmace has continued to distribute the game through other platforms, including a torrent download, and now it set to launch on the Epic Games Store. The studio isn’t giving up on a Steam release at some point in the future. It’s unclear whether existing players will need to buy the game again, but the studio says that it will be doing everything in its power to make sure that each PC platform has its fair share of players, hopefully including Steam at some point in the future.
