Dauntless will be receiving a major overhaul next summer which will shake up the monster-hunting game’s multiplayer mechanics and existing game systems. As part of the revamp, individual buffs will be grouped up into six main categories: might, vitality, defense, speed, critical, and endurance.

The changes will tie in with the upcoming HUD updates that will allow players to easily see what type of buffs are in effect and how many stacks are active. It will also include updated perk descriptions that will offer more information on their respective benefits.

Aside from the benefits that the changes will offer players, it will also make it easier for Phoenix Labs to roll out balance adjustments and allow them to make Behemoth encounters more dynamic and challenging with various modifiers and debuffs.

Phoenix Labs also assured the community that the existing Hunting Grounds won’t be overshadowed by the return of Pursuit Hunts and are designed to exist with each other. The team is looking into possibly adding a progression system that will give players the chance to unlock free hunts in the open-world Hunting Grounds.

The team goes into more detail about the upcoming buff changes in a recent AMA session on Reddit where they discussed the effects of the changes on builds, min-maxing, and the meta in general. It’s definitely worth a read if you’re nitpicky about stats and builds.
