Stormhaven Studios treated Embers Adrift fans to a new developer livestream over the weekend, where the studio unveiled their updated development roadmap for the group-based MMORPG for the remainder of 2023. During the stream, the developers talked about upcoming content updates and shed light on what players can expect in the coming months.

The third and fourth quarters of the year will see the introduction of new zones, including the picturesque Highland Hills, the rugged Grizzled Peaks, and new unexplored sections of the Forgotten Depths and Grimstone Canyon. Delving deeper into the game’s mysteries, adventurers will encounter challenging new dungeons like the Vehueramen Ruins and the imposing Dryfoot Fortress.

Aspiring alchemists will have the opportunity to explore enhanced crafting options with additional layers added to the alchemy profession. The update will also introduce a slew of new creatures, new storylines, new epic weapon quests, and new epic quest points-of-interest. The team also a “big announcement” coming soon.

The studio also acknowledged the community’s concerns about the slower development pace, saying that it’s meant to give players time to immerse themselves in the game’s lore and enjoy the journey rather than rushing to the endgame.

“It is meant to be appreciated in a different way than your regular MMORPG,” said Stormhaven Studios. “There’s plenty of MMORPGs that are ready for people who enjoy some fast-paced action, adrenaline – they’re great, they’re fantastic. But we wanted to create something different.”
