Ethyrial: Echoes Of Yore To Start Selling Founder Packs Later This Month

Gellyberry Studios has announced its plans to sell founder packs in its second attempt to secure funding for its upcoming hardcore, old-school MMORPG Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore. You might remember that the studio launched a $63,000 Kickstarter campaign back in May but gave up on it just a few weeks after it started.

The new so-called “founder crowdfunding program” is being touted as “a new approach” to crowdfunding MMOs although, as most MMO players already know, it’s a model that’s been widely used (and abused) by indie studios for many years now.

The founder packs will be available in $25, $100, and $400 tiers which come with exclusive titles and varying amounts of free game time along with various in-game goodies for the higher tiers. Players can also purchase addons that will allow them to create a custom NPC for $250, create a custom item for $750, or create a custom town for $2,000.

As you can probably guess from the information above, Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore will require a monthly subscription to play. The exact pricing has yet to be determined but Gellyberry currently has it set to $10 a month. The game will also feature a purely cosmetic cash shop where you’ll be able to purchase housing decorations and potentially pets and seasonal items.

The founder packs will be going on sale sometime later this month. As for the game itself, its set to launch in April 2023.
